Bachelor of Arts in Criminology

To Receive a B.A. in Criminology, students must complete the following steps:

1.  Students will begin the B.A. in the Criminology program with the following courses.  Students are required to complete the following courses and receive at least a "C-":

CRM 101 Foundations in Criminology
CRM 110 Introduction to the Criminal Justice System
CRM 230 Law Enforcement and Society
CRM 231 Criminal Procedures and Courts
CRM 238 Corrections
CRM 300 Criminology

2.  The next level of courses are as follows:

CRM 322 Research Methods in Criminal Justice
CRM 435 Field Studies in Criminal Justice
One CRM elective (either 200, 240, or 245)
6 credits in upper-level CRM electives (300 or 400 level courses)
6 credits in CRM 400 level electives

Majors are also required to take STAT 104, 200 or 215 and PHIL 144 in their General Education Program.


Criminal Justice as a Minor

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice offers a minor in Criminal Justice. The concentration consists of 5 required courses and one elective for a total of 18 hours.
