  Application Process

The course is restricted to Criminology majors (and minors with permission of the Internship Director) who are in the final year of their studies.  The course is offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.  Students should begin the process of seeking a placement 2-3 months* prior to the semester they intend to do an internship. Interested students should proceed as follows:

1.      Complete and submit a Field Placement Application to an Internship Director.

2.      Schedule a meeting with the Internship Director to discuss possible placements.

3.      Once accepted into the class, contact perspective placement agencies and begin           application process.

4.      Once an internship is secured, provide written confirmation to the Internship Director.

 * Placements with federal agencies are competitive, often require a GPA > 3.0, and can take more than a year to secure.
