Criminal Justice Association Mission Statement

The purpose of this organization is to facilitate the dissemination of information in the Criminal Justice field to Criminal Justice related majors, not excluding non-criminology majors. We will create an environment in which the member’s input is encouraged and promoted to better the effectiveness of the club. To this end we will provide assistance to our members in education, career advancement, and employment opportunities.

The Dodgeball Season Starts the week of Nov 2nd. 

The next club meeting will be held at 7 PM - Weds Oct 28th.

October 2009 Newsletter:

We are developing a new listserv so that we can keep you all up to date on events. 

The following members were in attendance of the Sept. 15th Jury Outreach event: Chris Duda, John Duda, Christine Alioto, Ernie LeClerq, Jon Herpst, Allysa McDermott, David Ortiz, Ed Gasiorek, Dorothy Rowland.

Elections for the 09-10 club were held Sept, 23rd at 7 PM.  Pursuant to the bylaws of the club, there was a election by quorum for the officer positions.  The following candidates were elected:

President: Kyle Langlais

Vice President: Mike Fuller (runners up: Ashley Kent, Bryan DiDonato)

Secretary: Katie Mullen (runner up: Jon Miller)

Tresurer: Ben Lazarus

The following club members have volunteered to play on the Department's expansion dodgeball franchise: Mike Fuller, Jon Miller, Katie Mullen, Steve Owens, Ashley Kent, Albi Sako, Tom Vernali, Ernie LeClerq, Jennifer Donahue, Jose Canales, George Morton, Matt Rousseau, Tyler Rossnagle, Jason O'Connor, James Maloney, Vanessa Johnson, Brett Bogus, Kyle Langlais, Ruth Donaldson.

There will be a meeting in The Criminal Justice Club Resource Room on Weds. October 7th at 7 PM.

There will be a meeting/social event at Bowl-o-rama on Weds. October 14th at 7 PM.

ACLU Chapter Vice President Clifford Thornton will be coming to campus on Weds. October 20th from 1:00-3:00.  The CJ club will sponsor the event which will take place in Torp Theatre.

In Novemeber, the CJ club will sponsor an event with the Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty.  A time and place are currently being negotiated.
