| Rachel Tirnady and Kimberly Bender have
accepted one year faculty positions for the 2008-2009
academic year. |

Mission
Statement
The Department
prepares students for further academic study and many
different careers. Students in the Department will acquire
substantive bases of knowledge and the analytical,
communication, and research skills necessary to become
professionals in criminal justice, public policy,
government, and other public and private enterprises.
Students will obtain the requisite knowledge and skills
through assignments and work that entail written
communication (such as papers, articles, books, and original
data collections and interpretation); oral presentations;
class discussion, debate, and group work.
